TONY OURSLER'S 'THE INFLUENCE MACHINE' AT TATE MODERN [PART 2]

American Artist Tony Oursler's The Influence Machine is a large-scale multimedia installation, which explores the history of virtual image production and the influence of technology by experimenting with video, smoke machines, a variety of soundtracks, and several sculptural elements. Originally commissioned and produced by Artangel, and developed with the Public Art Fund, The Influence Machine was recently donated to SOME/THINGS STOCKIST TATE MODERN, along with several other works from the Artangel Collection.

Oursler, who was born in New York, has also collaborated with DAVID BOWIE, directing his new single 'Where Are We Now?', as well as creating the background videos that played at BOWIE's 50th Birthday Party concert. For more information, visit tonyoursler.com / tate.org.uk / davidbowie.com

TACITA DEAN IN SOME/THINGS CHAPTER004 / THE WINGS OF A LOCUST

We are honoured to feature visual artist TACITA DEAN in SOME/THINGS CHAPTER004 / THE WINGS OF A LOCUST. It was recently announced that Tacita will undertake the next commissioned Unilever Series for the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern, to be unveiled on the 11th of October 2011.

Currently in it's 12th year, the annual Unilever Series invites some of the most innovative contemporary artists to create a piece for the Tate's Turbine Hall. Previous artists involved include Louise Bourgeois, Juan Muñoz, Bruce Nauman, Ai Weiwei, & RACHEL WHITEREAD, who we also had the privilege of featuring in CHAPTER004.
