SOME/PERFORMANCE : SAILLARD / SWINTON 'CLOAKROOM'
As a part of the line-up of Festival d’Automne à Paris, Olivier Saillard and Tilda Swinton are joining strengths and sensitivities anew - to offer a powerful interoperation of the cloakroom space.
With Tilda as a Master of Ceremony, hosting the public and receiving from who wants to approach the diva, a piece of clothes of your choice - she would pay attention, in a striking performance - to impregnate its smell, shape, textures and to offer her analysis to the people surrounding her. Built as a very precise ceremonial through which the lady is assisted by her metteur-en-scène - precise gestures, recurring rituals and distorted etiquette are mixed together in a not so improvised direction.
Thus the full piece is something to have definitely experienced once in a lifetime - Miss Swinton's natural presence, instinctive movements and ability to reach some out of nowhere spirit of performance bring you to some form of intimacy you would rarely be witnessing. Blessed those who received from the actress a spray of her perfume, a red lipstick mark on a handkerchief, an ear of wheat, a good small word on a big sheet of silk paper … or a glimpse of an eye.
