SERPENTINE GALLERY PAVILION BY HERZOG & DE MEURON & AI WEIWEI IN LONDON

this year THE Serpentine Gallery Pavilion WAS DESIGNED BY SWISS ARCHTECTS Herzog & de Meuron and CHINESE ARTIST Ai Weiwei. 13 columns, each representing a previously designed pavilion, lift the structure 1.4 metres above ground level and support the roof where rain water is collected to reflect the surrounding environment. Underneath, visitors will find a brown maze-like space made entirely out of renewable cork. THE Serpentine Gallery Pavilion will operate as a public space and as a venue for Park Nights, the Gallery's program of public talks and events. for more information, visit www.serpentinegallery.org
